Hi [firstname],
Welcome to the latest edition of the Sharesight newsletter! The purpose of this newsletter is to give you a quick summary of what we’ve been working on plus some tips on how to get the most out of Sharesight.
A big thank you to everyone who completed our recent customer survey. The survey results will help us to improve Sharesight for everybody and we really appreciate all of the great comments and suggestions. We will keep you updated on our planned improvements in this newsletter and also via our blog.
Beta Group
Over the next year we have many new features planned for Sharesight. We would like to hear from anyone who is interested in trying out new features and providing feedback before we make the features available to other customers (this pre-release customer testing is known as beta testing).
As a member of the beta group you will get special preview access to new Sharesight features, and will be asked to try these new features out and provide feedback. Please reply to this email if you are interested in being part of the beta group.
Sharesight Tips:
Managing Dividends
Automatically generated dividends in Sharesight are indicated by the magic wand icon [ ]. These dividends are calculated by applying company dividend data to the number of shares recorded in your portfolio on the dividend action date.
Because automatic dividends are dynamically generated they may change in the following situations:
-When you add or amend share purchase or sale transactions
-When the company amends the dividend information prior to payment.
It’s a good idea to check your dividends in Sharesight against your dividend statements and then lock in the correct dividend by saving it. When a dividend is saved the magic wand icon will disappear and the dividend will no longer automatically update in the situations outlined above.
Perform the following steps to save a dividend:
1. Click into the detail page for the relevant share holding.
2. Click on the dividend in the dividends table
3. If required, make any changes to ensure that the dividend exactly matches your dividend statement.
4. Click the ‘Save’ button.
Using the ‘Remember me’ Function
1. If you don’t want to have to type your email and password each time you access Sharesight, click the ’remember me’ tick-box on the login page. Please note that this will allow anyone who has access to your computer to view your portfolio without a password, so if other people have access to your computer you might not want to use the ‘remember me’ function.
2. When you have finished using Sharesight simply close your browser. Do not click the logout link – see below.
3. If you don’t want to use the ‘remember me’ function anymore, access your Sharesight account and click the ‘logout’ link in the top right corner of the screen. This will clear your ‘remember me’ status on all computers that you have used to access Sharesight.
Best regards,
Scott Ryburn
